Focus
Raphael is a Junior Economist with the ZOE Institute for Future-fit Economies. Since joining the team as a Research Assistant in December 2022, his work has been focused on Beyond GDP and economic resilience. Raphael’s scientific interests lie in the field post-growth economics, growth dependence, political economy, and sustainable welfare.
Background
Raphael holds a bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics and Social Sciences as well as a master’s degree in Socio-ecological Economics and Policy from the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration. In his master’s thesis, Raphael analysed the growth dependence of the Austrian welfare state. Moreover, Raphael has published articles on working time reduction and the Green New Deal. Before joining ZOE as a Research Assistant, Raphael worked as an intern for AK EUROPA, the Brussels Office of the Austrian Federal Chamber of Labour.
