She is keen on leveraging an anthropological perspective to understand the socio-cultural processes and power dynamics underlying sustainable transitions.

Background

Before ZOE, Erin worked as Project Manager of a Horizon Europe project on the Anthropology of Global Climate Urgency. She earned her MSc in Social and Cultural Anthropology from KU Leuven in 2023 (summa cum laude), focusing on the nexus of climate change and emotion. Her master’s research explored how a community in Belgium navigates the emotional complexities of living-with climate change through a lens of deep human-nonhuman entanglement. She is interested in understanding what it means to live in a climate-changed world, and how degrowth can help create shared visions of the future. Erin volunteers for the Degrowth Journal and writes speculative fiction on climate change and the Anthropocene.
