Framing Competitiveness
Research-based recommendations for communicating at the EU level
This report is the result of a research process to test different competitiveness framings.
We wanted to find ways to effectively frame competitiveness at the EU level in ways that build consensus around the idea that: Only an economy that is delivering on environmental and social goals is competitive long term.
We developed frames and elements that we found potentially helpful to this task then tested them in interviews with opinion leaders and shapers at EU level.
We distilled the findings of the interviews into seven recommendations for framing competitiveness for people wanting to engage in the discourse in ways that are helpful for long-term societal goals.
