Environmental Costs and Alternative Welfare Measures

The project aims to analyse how environmental and welfare aspects can be better integrated into existing economic models. To this end, relevant environmental and welfare indicators as well as macroeconomic models are identified and analysed, followed by recommendations on how indicators can be integrated into economic models. The project is intended to help overcome the weaknesses of the current economic modelling, which is strongly based on GDP, and to contribute to establishing environmental and welfare aspects more deeply in policy analysis and reporting and thus in social and political perception.
