Dr Christoph Gran at Directorate-General for Research and Innovation
Brussels, 21 October 2019. ZOE's co-founder Dr Christoph Gran presented his work "Beyond GDP: Redefining Economic Progress" to Jean-Eric Paquet (Director-General of DG RTD) and other members of the European Commission as part of the 'Sustainable Prosperity - made in Europe' project.
As DG RTD is a crucial actor of change within the EU, ZOE presented a new “compass” for socio-ecological economic policy-making to design a future-fit economy that focuses on people and the planet. Navigating through the interlinked challenges of the 21st century calls for new narratives, an integrative policy approach and extending the economic foundations.
The event also included a presentation by Enrico Giovannini, economist, statistician, member of the Club of Rome, and former Italian Minister of Labour and Social Policies.
Christoph Gran is partner and co-founder of ZOE Institute with main research areas in macroeconomic models, indicators and ecological economics.
