Focus
Marla is interested in the macroeconomic and distributive dimensions of monetary systems, central banking and large-scale transitions. She focuses on the interrelations between the real and the financial sphere of the economy and the interaction of the Global North and South. As a macroeconomic policy trainee at ZOE, she is working on economic resilience, fiscal- and industrial policy.
Background
After her interdisciplinary undergraduate studies at University College Maastricht, Marla joined the double degree program ‘Economic Policies for the Age of Globalization’ (EPOG). She studied at HWR Berlin and Sorbonne Paris Nord and focused on international macroeconomics, financial regulations, and sustainability. In her thesis, she discussed the political economy of central bank swap lines to the global periphery.
