Focus

Lasse is a Research Assistant with the ZOE Institute for Future-fit Economies. Since joining the team in January 2023, his work has been focused on Beyond GDP and economic resilience. Lasse’s scientific interests lie in the field of post-growth economics, fiscal and monetary policy, political economy, and political ecology.

Background

Lasse holds a master’s degree in Sustainability Economics and Management from the Carl von Ossietzky University Oldenburg. In his master’s thesis, Lasse discussed the role of the state within degrowth societies. Before joining ZOE, Lasse worked at the Hamburg Institute of International Economics and worked on topics related to sustainability and innovation economics. At HWWI, Lasse has published articles on decarbonizing infrastructure and the role of innovation in the economic development of Central and Eastern Europe.
